Kathleen K. Seefeldt Award for Arts Excellence
The Kathleen K. Seefeldt Awards for Arts excellence were established over 15 years ago by the Prince William Arts Council to recognize and celebrate the artists, arts organizations, volunteers, educators and business that build upon and sustain Ms. Seefeldt’s legacy of public service and support for the cultural arts.
The Arts Council chose to name the awards in honor of Ms. Seefeldt because of her long history of service of the county and the state. She is a former Chair of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the development of the tri-partite agreement that lead to the creation of the Hylton Performing Arts Center. After leaving the Board, she held several appointed positions on state government commissions as well as volunteer work with a number of charities.
Call for 2018 Nominations open soon. Persons 18 years of age or older and organizations from Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park who live, work or volunteer in these locales may be nominated for the Seefeldt Award. Nominations should be made based on their significant or distinguished contribution to arts in the region. Previous winners cannot win in the same category for five years. Self-nominations are also accepted. Judges for the awards will include previous award winners as well as artists and community supporters of the arts.
All accepted Nominees should plan to attend the Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, 6:30pm at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
The event is by invitation only.
