Who We Are
We’re proud to have been voted “Best Dance Studio in Northern Virginia 2017” by Northern Virginia Magazine, and to be a leading dance organization in Northern Virginia. An Affiliate Arts Organization of the Hylton Performing Arts Center, a Finalist of the Seefeldt Awards for Outstanding Arts Organization in 2016 and 2017, a member of the Virginia Commission for the Arts Touring Directory, and a member of the Prince William Arts Council, Virginia National Ballet is supported in part by grants from The Dominion Foundation, NOVEC, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Virginia Commission for the Arts, and Prince William County.
The professional dance company of twelve award winning international dancers, and the school of over 160 students, are moving this spring to a brand new, 5400 square foot facility with three large, bright dance studios and a music studio. We offer a wide variety of dance classes for all ages and levels, and will offer classes 7 days a week in 2018-19. We also have a great music program for voice and piano students, who have the benefit of performing in the year end recital at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
Guest stars who have appeared with the company include superstars Daniil Simkin, Isabella Boylston, James Whiteside (all Principal Dancers with American Ballet Theater); Ashley Bouder, Teresa Reichlen, and Ask la Cour (all NYC Ballet Principal Dancers), Aaron Smyth (Royal Ballet, Joffrey Ballet), Aria Alekzander (Houston Ballet, America’s Got Talent), Nour Eldesouki (Munich, Dresden, Essen and Cairo Ballets), Carolina Boscán (Essen, Leipzig Ballets), and more. The world premieres of Rafik Hegab’s Aida, Carmina Burana, Carmen, Collection, La Boheme, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Snow White received rave reviews, and the annual Nutcracker performances are a holiday favorite in Northern Virginia.
Led by the husband and wife team of Rafik Hegab (Artistic Director) and Elysabeth Muscat Hegab (Managing Director), Gainesville Ballet is an exciting, international, values based arts organization offering world class dance performances, and outstanding dance and music instruction in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome. We have a great pre-ballet program for young children, an outstanding pre-professional program for aspiring professionals, adult classes, as well as casual dance classes.
With the excellent administration, faculty, facility, education, performances, and smoothly run, family atmosphere, Virginia National Ballet is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the arts!

Who We Serve
We serve anyone who is interested in dance, either by attending dance classes or viewing performances. The current student body comes from Prince William County, Fauquier County, Fairfax County, and beyond.
