James Gallagher

Mr. James Gallagher has been able to devote more time to his painting since he retired from the World Bank. Shortly before retirement, he started attending NOVA for their art classes, as well as taking various workshops and classes in the area.   He joined the Prince William Art Society, a local art club, and has held various positions on their board. He is currently the President of the club.   James likes to get outside for some Plein air landscape painting whenever possible as well as painting still lifes in his studio.   He has painted rain barrels for the Prince William Conservation Alliance and Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District to be used in their fund-raising efforts. One of his paintings graces the kiosk at the entrance to Merrimac Farm WMA in Nokesville.   James works in oils as well as acrylic paints and has displayed his art in various shows in the area.   He would like to see murals and other forms of art displayed locally to further encourage the art scene in Prince William County.
