Elysabeth Muscat

Ms. Muscat is the Co-Founder of Virginia National Ballet, and has devoted her entire career to the arts, as a performer, teacher, administrator, and volunteer. The company performs full seasons annually at the Hylton, and is a member of the VA Commission for the Arts Touring Directory.   The company partnered with the OBCO, and many stars of ABT & NYC Ballet have performed with the company including Daniil Simkin, James Whiteside, Ask la Cour, Isabella Boylston, Ashley Bouder, and Teresa Reichlen.  Ms. Muscat was the Founder and Managing Director of Baltimore Ballet, where she worked for twelve years. She is a former opera singer who performed leading roles at the Zürich Opera, Staatsoper Prague, Vienna Kammeroper, Theater der Stadt Koblenz, and  L’Opéra Français. She was the Chair of the Peabody Preparatory Voice Department, where she taught for 15 years, and she has a private teaching studio in Gainesville. She was President and Vice President of the MD/DC Chapter of NATS. She has a Master of Music in Voice from the Mannes College of Music and a BS in Psychology from Tulane University. She has won numerous awards, given Master Classes, and judged many vocal competitions. Her students have been accepted to the top conservatories, and many are now singing professionally.
