Alice Mergler

Alice Mergler grew up in arts Arlington, close to The National Theater and The National Art Gallery where her mom was a docent. In 1975 her family of 7 found a wonderful antique school in Manassas, which she has made her home since then. When the Arts Council was created, she served on The Board for many years, adding an orchestra, choruses, a photography club, two bands, and several other arts-driven organizations. To promote our County Arts, Alice created the first Community TV show, hosting super energetic arts members! As a Director of The Arts Council and as The PWC Poet Laureate Circle’s Coordinator, Alice serves on the Arts Alive Committee, promotes Countywide Literary Activities, especially the Poet Laureate Circle’s Events, which include Biennial Celebrations at The Hylton Performing Arts Center: In The Company of Laureates and The Crowning of the newly elected Prince William Poet Laureate. Many of the poets in The Poet Laureate Circle attend open mic readings, one of which, Spilled Ink, held on the 4th Friday at Jirani Coffeehouse in Manassas at 7:00pm. All PWC Scribblers and Poets are welcome to read. Contact: mergleralice@gmail.com.
