Who I Am

Kim B Miller is known for her poetry and motivational speaking but she is also an author, facilitator, parent advocate, and a mentor.

Kim is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn. She is married and has 4 children: 2 added to her heart through marriage and 2 she had in a previous marriage.

She currently facilitates workshops for students, authors and parents and she previously taught poetry to women in a correctional facility. She facilitates parenting classes for Prince William County in VA. She also wrote a book about parent alienation titled: How to Love Your Kids More Than You Hate That Man.

She’s an empowering motivational speaker that touches the heart, mind and soul. Her words can inspire you toward greatness. Kim also mentors adults. She believes encouragement is a gift that we all possess but sometimes we don’t offer this gift as often as it is needed.

She’s passionate about performing poetry and being a poetry mentor. Kim is passionate about helping “future poets” develop their skills. She mentors students in elementary, middle school and high school.

This spoken word artist loves writing and performing. She wants you to feel her heart in each piece. Her poetry is her heart expressed in words: opinionated, thought provoking and real.

She has been the featured poet in several venues, churches and programs in, VA, MD, DC, PA and NY including The National Black Theater in New York. She has written 2 spoken word books: Poetically Inking Just Me, My Pen and The Mic; Christ Gave Me This Pen so I Have to Write the Truth. Her haiku chapbook is called Haiku: Three Lines of Power.

Her spoken word CD is titled: My Poetry is Portable but the Truth Doesn’t Move.
